Fancy learning to surf right here on the Llyn Peninsula? Here in Abersoch, North Wales we have been running surf lessons for over 15 years for beginners and intermediates who need a few tips to head in the right direction. Put on a wetsuit, grab a board, head to the beach and get surfing! Riding the waves is one of the most exhilarating watersports around plus you don't need a speedboat, jetski or powered watercraft, just the awesome power of the ocean's waves. At Offaxis you will get the tuition you need to enable you to quickly get the maximum enjoyment from surfing.

Intermediate & progression lessons

These are private sessions where individuals or small groups (up to 3 people) spend an hour with our expert instructor taking their surfing to the next level.

Our experience and knowledge of the local breaks and weather conditions will ensure you are taught in the most suitable location for your standard.

What to expect

£50 per person for an hours water time

With our renowned Surfing Academy it is now even easier to come and join in the fun. On your arrival at the shop in Abersoch you will be greeted by one of our friendly staff and made to feel at home straight away. We will fit you out with a wetsuit and boots then you will be ready to hit the water. We will take all the boards down to the car-park at Hell's Mouth with our van. You will have to make your own way down to Hell's Mouth and get changed in the car park ready for the lesson. We will then allocate boards and rash vests before heading down to the beach. The lesson will start with some beach safety and how to keep safe in the water while surfing. Then followed by a small warm up and stretch before we enter the water. 

The round trip from the meeting in the shop to finishing in the water is about 3 hours. Our instructors have been surfing the breaks on these beaches for years and have the know how and encouragement to help you get the most out of your lesson. Our objective is to educate you about beach safety and have you riding a wave with confidence and security. Equipped with the most up to date range of Soft and Soft Top Boards, your learning, progression and enjoyment will be maximised. Please note this is based on a group lesson price and we require a minimum of 3 people to make the lesson run at this price.
