Whether you are a total beginner or a seasoned professional, OFFAXIS can provide the equipment, tuition and professionalism that will enable you to get the most out of your coaching session.

Wakeboarding for beginners

Wakeboarding is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. It is particularly popular with youngsters as the skills transfer easily from other board sports such as skateboarding or snowboarding, and the basics can be learnt quickly.

As a beginner you shouldn’t feel intimidated by other, more experienced boarders on the water. We all started in the same situation. At OFFAXIS our professional riders will help you find your legs and feel at ease on the water - gradually building your confidence to tackle harder disciplines. 

Our aim is to have you up and riding the wake for a short distance in your very first lesson. You can join in with a group set if you are by yourself, or book a private set if there is a few of you. Either way, you’ll find the atmosphere relaxed and non-intimidating, and our instructors encouraging and inspiring. Please beware: wakeboarding is highly addictive and will change your life!

Advanced wakeboarding lessons

Advanced Wakeboarding is our speciality. We thrive on taking riders to new heights by developing your skills so you can perform the very latest moves and tricks. Whether you want to nail your first Blind 180 or an Offaxis 5, our professional coaching methods and customised tips will help you throw down some new moves. We can assist with everything from fine-tuning your style to landing the most technical of tricks. OFFAXIS are committed to ensuring your ambitions and targets are quickly and accurately reached.

Where we're based

Wakeboard lessons are based at the Offaxis Harbourside Shop in Pwllheli (LL53 5YR), and Boat runs from Plas Heli Pontoons. If you are a beginner, an intermediate or an advanced rider, we will make sure that you get the best out of your water time. 

What to expect

On your arrival at our OFFAXIS Harbourside Shop you will be greeted by one of our friendly staff and made to feel at home straight away. Once fitted with a wetsuit you will then be ready to hit the water We take 4-6 riders out on each trip (no passengers) for an approx 2 hour round trip. The boat operates out of Pwllheli Marina. You will be met by our boat driver/instructor by the white bridge at the top of Plas Heli pontoons look for our sign.

Once out on the water each rider will take their allotted 15 min set, whether you are a complete beginner, in the intermediate or advanced stage, we will make sure you get the best advice and top tips from our qualified Wakeboard Instructors. Aim to be at the Shop about 15 mins before your allotted time slot so you have plenty of time to get changed and ready to jump on the boat. Note no payment will be processed until the day of the activity. If the weather doesn't permit us to run we will cancel the lesson and there will be no charge. To cancel a booking we will need more than 24 hours notice otherwise we reserve the right to charge.
