Learn to surf

Riding the waves is one of the most exhilarating watersports around. You don't need a speedboat or jetski, just the awesome power of the ocean's waves! At Offaxis you will get the tuition you need to enable you to quickly get the maximum enjoyment from surfing. Put on a wetsuit, grab a board and get surfing!

Beginner lessons

Our objective is to educate you about beach safety and have you riding a wave with confidence and security. Equipped with the most up to date range of Ocean & Earth and Mick Fanning soft boards, your learning, progression and enjoyment will be maximised. We'll start by educating you about beach safety and by the end of the session aim to have you standing up and surfing white water with confidence. Our instructors have been surfing the waves on these beaches for years and have the know-how to help you get the most out of your lesson!

Intermediate lessons

Offaxis also offer intermediate/progression lessons. These are private sessions where individuals or small groups (1 to 3 people) spend an hour with our expert instructor taking their surfing to the next level.

Where to meet & what to bring

• Meet at Offaxis, Glanafon Garage, Abersoch, LL53 7HP at the start time of the lesson. Here we will kit you out with a wetsuit and boots
• After this, you will need to make your own way to Hell's Mouth/Porth Neigwl Beach where our instructor will meet you in the car park at our surf van and will give you a surfboard
  

• Please bring your own swimsuit, towel, sun cream, drinking water and any medication you need (e.g. inhaler, EpiPen etc.)
  

Other information

• Payment will not be taken until the day of your lesson

• If you wish to cancel we require 48 hours notice, otherwise a cancellation fee will be charged

• Please allow 2.5 - 3 hours for the round trip from meeting at the shop

• There are no changing rooms or toilet facilities at Hell's Mouth Beach, please get changed in the car park before your lesson

• In the event of unsuitable water conditions we will offer you an alternative of Stand-Up Paddleboarding or Wakeboarding (dependent on availability and water conditions)

• On some occasions we may need to rearrange the lesson at short notice, sometimes on the day of the lesson. Please keep you mobile with you in case we need to contact you
  

• Please note this is based on a group lesson price and we require a minimum of 4 people to make the lesson run at this price
• All participants to be aged 9 years+ and capable of a 50 metre swim in open water
